I'm not very imaginative :( so would love some help on what to do with our fireplace, specifically the front part that sticks out - it's brick, and we have a crawler who's learning to walk, and that fireplace freaks me out! I have corner/edge guards which she pulls right off. We have no intention of ever using the fireplace (we're in FLA), so I'm looking for some creative use for it - I've contemplated making it similar to a sitting area with big comfy cushions, or something special for the girls, like a fairy house setup (bricks well-covered, of course!) although I'm not sure how I would create that look. Any other thoughts/suggestions?? Thanks!

I put a couch in front of one fireplace I had.

I like the idea of filling it up with old books. You could probably get some MDF or Plywood and line it out so that it could be a playspace.

We covered ours with 1" foam and piled toys and books on it.
