X-post from the Lounge (I mistakenly posted there):

BBB is where I first found out about Pinecone Research and I've been doing this for years now!!! They're still exclusive - you can't sign up on their website - you have to be invited or be lucky enough to see their banner on a random website. I just wanted to pass on the opportunity since I got this invite e-mail from them. I do NOT get any kickbacks whatsoever from this.

The online surveys usually take ~15 minutes and they only pay about $3 now, but it does add up. I look at it as latte money or play money. I chose to have the reloadable MasterCard option so I don't have to deal with depositing those pesky checks anymore! I believe PayPal is also still an option.

Anyway, here's the e-mail:
PineCone Research is growing and we invite you to help! We are offering select members the opportunity to recommend membership to a friend or relative who is NOT a member of their household.

Do you know of households that would like to join the PineCone Research Panel? If so, please FORWARD A COPY of this email to each household you would like to refer so that they may click on the registration link shown below. That household should complete the registration form themselves and submit it. REMEMBER THAT ONLY ONE PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD MAY REGISTER. Multiple registrations of the same Household will void all registrations.

Here is the link to the registration:

As a member in good standing, you've already seen the benefits of being part of PineCone Research. So please, share the benefits of membership with a friend. Don't forget, please don't tell them about any of the products that you have seen in our questionnaires or tried in your home. Remember, it's important that your PineCone Research survey and product testing experiences remain confidential.

If your referral has any questions, they can email us at [email protected] or click on the attached links to learn more about PineCone Research.

Thanks for sharing, but I didn't qualify : (

"Thank you for your interest in PineCone Research. Unfortunately, there are no available openings for members with a household make-up that aligns with yours at this time. However we will keep your registration for a few weeks in case a spot opens up."

Do you get many paying surveys? I used to do these and then found I was doing more and more of the surveys sent out to "better match me" and no paying ones, so I stopped.

I've been with Pinecone for at least 7 years. I get about 1-5 paying surveys a month. They don't pay much but it's something.

I've been doing surveys since January. I'd say I get 2-5 surveys a month. It's pretty good.

I only get about 1-2 surveys a month. Occasionally I also get "update" surveys where they ask me specific questions about my household shopping habits, which I don't think are paid.

They surveys nowadays only pay $3 (I remember when it used to be $5). I just checked my card balance and since June 18, I've earned $9. Like I said, it's not much, but that's $9 for just clicking buttons and answering questions on the net. That'll pay for dinner @ a Mexican restaurant or I can stretch it out on some back-to-school sales to get school supplies for DD.

To those who didn't qualify this time around, I'd tell you to save the link and keep trying!! Pinecone will drop people who consistently don't answer surveys so I imagine openings are a revolving door!!

Think about having your husband try to qualify. I'd say I average 2 surveys a month- sometimes more, sometimes less. I get a ton of the Household Questions, but 9 times out of 10 I just delete those. I don't know if that really affects the number I get or not.

ETA: For those who like this sort of thing, two other options are Swagbucks and Quick Rewards. I make more money through those b/c I control how much I participate, to some extent. I probably average 7.50 in Amazon gcs a week through SB. I'm less consistent with QR, but they have Disney gc's, so that's souvenir money for us. A lot of people make a lot more, but I only have so much time for that stuff.
