We're TTC and AF was due last week. Throughout last week I had a few conventional tests with faint lines and then a positive digital test. Over the weekend my AF started and seems to be a regular period with stronger cramping than usual. I'm assuming I'm no longer pregnant but don't know for certain.

What are my next steps? Should I take another home PG test? I'm assuming I should call my PCP on Monday. What will they likely do? Is there anything specific I should about?

Thanks!!

I'm sorry to hear that :( I had a chemical pregnancy in April and did actually go in for blood testing- first to confirm the pregnancy, then to confirm that all my levels were back to normal after I began bleeding. I don't think there's much your PCP would do for you at this point other than do beta testing to make sure your hormonal levels have all dropped back to the normal ranges.

Yes, they will just want to do a blood test to make sure your levels are returning to normal. I think I had one test right away then another a week later. So sorry!

Sorry that happened to you. Definitely call your doctor so they can run tests.
I had one and got pg with DS the following month. The good news is you CAN get pregnant :)

I had two chemical pregnancies (in addition to miscarriages). One Dr did as described above. They drew blood, had me come back in three days and drew blood again.

The other Dr shrugged, did nothing, gave me no medical advice and acted like it was nothing.

I am sorry you had to experience that.

If it happens again, I would ask about getting a referral to a specialist. Once is an anomaly and not uncommon. Repeats could mean you are not producing enough HGC or progesterone or other hormone or chemical.

Document dates and times, flow, timing, etc. It gets hard to remember that stuff down the road and you may need the info in the future.

Best of luck in your endeavors to conceive!

No advice, but I wanted to say I am sorry for your loss. Once you see a line on the pregnancy test, whether faint or not, it is hard not to get emotionally invested. :grouphug:
