Thanks for all the suggestions. I ended up wearing this dress from Boden in black. I punched it up with cute cobalt shoes and a great cobalt necklace. I was happy to return a couple of the dresses that didn't work for me and save some money.

We are going to a wedding in August (read: 100 degrees) that is at 4 pm at a church with a reception at a nice reception hall at 6pm.

Most of these people I haven't seen in 10 years or so so I want to look cute. I have been running and my legs look pretty good. I am a size 8/10 , 5'3" and I carry my weight in my stomach and breasts(ugh, thanks PCOS). I usually like a v neck, structured dress. I don't want a basic black dress or any floral. Help me

Would this look cute?

I have this and I love it but it is too short for a wedding.

Would I look silly in taffeta? I can't decide

#1 and #3 are the same dress. I think it's cute, but from the way you describe your body type, I'm not sure that's the most flattering. I think you should show a little more leg.

I love #2's color, but it looks very casual to me.

I like the modcloth one you listed (it was the same one in both links. I think it would look great w/your body type).

That's true. I was thinking of the darker color on top (for larger chest) and the A-line (for tummy). I wonder how it would look hemmed above the knee?

Thanks guys, I didn't even read the length of that dress. I was hoping for a 35 inch dress. My legs are my best asset now so I need to show them off.

This one is similar to the first one you posted. Does the high waist work for you?

I think this one would look like good on what I'm picturing your body type. But I could be wrong. (I like the color a lot).

i like the green taffeta one you posted, but looking at the back it doesn't look bra friendly which is always a big no for me.

ETA: I liked the turquoise of the Badgley Mischka dress, but it seemed awfully shiny.

I love this dress, it is definitely a contender. Thank you!

Minus 1", I have a similar body type (thanks PCOS here too!) and I have nice legs, if I do say so myself. :)

The dress you linked 1st is so cool! It gets my vote. I also love what TwinFoxes picked a ton! But, here's some others:
I have a dress like this (mine is Lauren, in black) and I love how I look in it:

This one is pretty:

And, if you got 'em, flaunt 'em:

I like the second dress that TwinFoxes linked the best. The second purple Banana Republic one is nice too.

I really think that the ones you posted, except the first retro one are too short, and the Piper Lime one with the pockets is too casual IMHO.

This one for sure! Plus, it is that rare bird, a reasonably priced Nordstrom's dress.
