Ok, After reading (and hijacking) the thread about DC's and junk food I have decided to make more of an effort to cut back on DD's pasta and juice consumption. Lucky for me she loves fruits and veggies, however she is not a big meat eater so we will have to stick to chicken nuggets and sliced deli ham as that is pretty much all she will eat for protein (hotdogs too). The nuggets are a local grocery chain "natural" brand (natures promise for any stop &shop shoppers). DD ate everything on her plate and didn't ask for more which she normally does before she is even done. She had fun "designing" her plate too :). She even asked if she could take a picture to send to DH so I thought I'd share here. It's chicken nuggets, a half of a cheese stick cut up, a small tomato and a tangerine.
I need more inspiration! Please recommend your favorite healthy food websites/blogs. I'm going to the farmers market soon, so hopefully will come back with lots of goodies!

I don't have any real specific ones, but I've been reading a lot about bento lunches and we have been making them for DD for day care. She eats breakfast at home and then I send her with a lunch and two snacks, plus she has a small snack after day care (which is sort of her dinner, since dinner sometimes is late and she doesn't eat much).

With the bento, I try to do 5 colors. Red, orange, yellow (or white), green, and blue/purple.

I am slicing fruits anyway and double up on some of the stuff she gets at breakfast or lunch or from the night before. We are more of grazers and simple eaters, so it's never anything too complex.

If you search for bento toddler blogs, you will find some cool ideas. HTH!

Thanks for these, they look like they have a lot of potential. I can't wait to have more time to look through them :)
