I do not know anything about this author but I thought this might be of interest to a few parents here.

They are having the author (Sandra Beasley) of "Don't Kill the Birthday Girl: Tales from an Allergic Life" on the show. She has more than 12 food allergies.

The description from the above says:
Food allergies don't have to mean an end to birthday parties. An award-winning poet intertwines her personal experience as "Allergy Girl" with a cultural history of food allergies. She explains why people with food allergies don't have to be victims, but must learn to navigate the world in a different way.

You can usually catch the podcast the next day, or catch it live (streaming) via WAMU or WUNC.

I'm not sure if any FA moms know this author. If she's terrible, I apologize in advance ;)
