Etsy. I just ordered one b/c Amaya is an awesome hula hooper and I want to do it with her. She can hula hoop great (like for 5 full minutes!) with adult size hula hoops but cannot keep the small ones up. Apparently, the bigger the better (within reason).

Well DD is using her lunch box from last year and she got a backpack for her bday, so I have some wiggle room. ;)

What about a charm bracelet that you could add a charm to each school year? You could get a regular charm bracelet or a pandora knock off on etsy.

I'm hesitant to buy more jewelry b/c she has totally destroyed the couple of pieces I have bought her so far. It will probably end up at the bottom of the toy box or under her bed.

:yeahthat: I think I am going to take DD1 out to lunch because school gets out at 12:30 that day. I will be taking the whole day off probably so lunch seems to work out perfectly.

When we picked him up from school the first day we took DS to Jamba Juice (we rarely eat out so this was a treat) and gave him a $10 gc (good for 3+ trips). He was super excited since he got pay for his own treats that way. We took a picture too, to capture the event you know. The gc came from my sister (a creditialed librarian and the official "school stuff" arbitrator of our family as far as DS is concerned).

I don't think I gave DD a gift last year or if I did it wasn't memorable!

We went to lunch after the first day with friends to celebrate the first day and I think we ended up at the Candy Store afterwards for a treat. We hope to continue the tradition.
