lol...I think it is funny/interesting that you deem your mothers reason for not cutting the crusts off b/c she was not domestic. Mine did not cut them off b/c it was wasteful.

I used to cut all crusts off for DD b/c the bread we buy is not soft doughy bread. The crusts were too tough for her to chew. Now she asks for the crusts as she has learned it is the best part! When she can't chew through, she just eats all the way up to the crust like a watermelon rind.
