If you get food from a local CSA how much do you pay and for how many baskets/orders? There aren't a lot of options in our area and I've just learned about one possibility but the price seems high. Thanks!

Around here, the going rate for a crate of produce for a family of 4 is about $35. It's enough to last us nearly 2 weeks, generally 20 pounds of veggies and fruit.

We pay $31.50 for a box every two weeks. It is all organic.

$24/a box/week (2 people) - it's all organic. I can't remember what the other csa's i've been in have cost, but when I looked at what we received it seemed cheaper than hitting the farmers market for everything.

Here's a link to mine:

We get a discount if we sign up in the fall for the following summer, and we get a discount if we buy several groups, ie - veggies, fruit, and honey shares.

The price is a little high, but it's not a grocery store. It's food picked the same day, and processed with no chemicals. I love my CSA. Worth every penny.

We get a medium box and that's about enough food for a family for a week, we have to make an effort to get through it. When DH and I were single we both got small boxes, but once we moved in together we combined for a medium box. Its year round, all organic and harvested a day or two before its delivered, the farm is about 1.5 hours away.

Love our CSA and would seriously miss it if I had to go back. I've had it for about 7 years now and can no longer effectively buy produce in a grocery store.
