Hi,

I am having my first baby girl and have some lovely ideas for her classy and gorgeous room...white chair crown molding, white crib and furniture, chandelier on the ceiling, and paintable white damask wallpaper, painted a bubblegum pink (not hot pink at all) halfway up the wall. Bedding would be grey, white, with a touch of pink

I read that many people are afraid of Pepto Bismol color. I love color and really do not want a pastel pink. The room is small and really doesn't get much light at all..small window. I have attached a link..what do you think of this shade and do you know of a color paint that is similar?

Thanks!

I think it's adorable. But then again, I'm a pink person! LO room is painted a pretty bright pink--diff from that shade, butvery pink. We got it at Sherwin Williams and they had quite a few similar shades.

One note, b/c it's so bright, the room is always bright. Even with room darkening shades and thick curtains, it's still pretty bright during the day. Good for awake time. Frustrating during naps. Before we had the shades, there was always a pink glow coming from her room. Just something to think about.

I agree with pp about brightness and the glow. My ds1's room was blue as can be and it was too bright. It wasn't really a bright blue, kind of on par with the pink you shared. I toned it down when we moved.

Don't forget that sometimes bright colors look fantastic during the daytime, but not-so-great at night. I would consider that before choosing a certain shade.

I wouldn't do it. With my kids, I have found that pretty much the only time the nursery is really used is sleep time. So I prefer the walls to be a soothing color. If you love pink and like it with grey, I'd go for grey walls and do pink bedding.

I agree with PPs, I wouldn't do the entire wall. But I like your ideas of dividing up colors: doing a pink stripe or two midway up the wall with light gray or cream/off white on the rest of the walls will work. Or you can do the lower half of the walls your chosen shade pink, top half off white, and a darker pink stripe or damask print in the middle. ETA: or do white crown molding 1/3 of the way down the wall to divide the gray on top and pink on bottom. That will tie in nicely with your decor theme.
