Like many kids with autism, DS has a history of not repsonding when we called his name. He would continue whatever he was doing as if he did not hear us at all. We kind of got used to repeatedly calling his name and having to physically get his attention.

However, over the last couple of weeks, DS has started to repsond to us calling his name. Now the first time we call his name he will turn to us and loudly demand "What?!" In a typical kid it would come across as totally obnoxious. But it's still so unexpected that it makes DH and I crack up every time. :rotflmao:

Sometimes it's the little milestones that mean the most.

Awesome!!! It is fun to recognize the "typical" milestones that most folks take for granted. :)
