I have been torturing myself coming up with a 10 year anniversary gift for DH. Lately if he has wanted/needed something he has been going out and getting it (which he deserves, he has sacrificed a ton for me and the kids, always putting our wants/needs first). I finally came up with it - a really good quality 3/4 length wool coat. Yeah me! He has one, but he needed it unexpectedly at the last minute on a business trip and grabbed a fairly thin one from The Men's Warehouse. So help me ladies - I want to get him something that is warm and will last a long time. I had my last high end wool coat for 10+ years and only replaced it because I was tired of it. Not much on Zappos. About to check Sierra Trading Co. Ideas? Suggestions? It needs to be black.

ETA I don't know mens brands that well. Usually if I want to get him something nice I just head to Neiman or Nordstroms figuring it won't be total crap. Any suggested brands? I'm going to head to Nordstrom Rack later this week to check it out.

We got DH a Burberry 3/4 length coat from Nordstrom last fall. He looks really good in it (he had it tailored) and the coat keeps him warm. It also looks like it would wear really well. I just keep my fingers crossed that DH would not lose it.

Burberry and high end fashion brands are completely different, but if you just want a good quality coat for a bargain price, here are a couple:

My DH likes either pure functionality or great style (with significant functionality, lol).

Looks like most of the coats aren't out yet, but a nice camel hair is always wonderful for a man. Depends on how much you want to spend, kwim?

Brooks Brothers has their overcoats out, so you can see good style (even if you don't want to spend that kind of money - and I don't!) Then look for coats like it at Sierra Trading Post, Overstock.com, Nordstrom Rack, Amazon, etc.
