Coat Alterations

My sister is giving her Burberry wool duffle coat to me and she's slightly larger built. The coat is a size 8 and I'm usually a size 4 or 6 US. I know the Burberry line of coats don't exactly match US sizing. I have a trench coat from the same brand and had it slightly altered. Since this is a totally different coat, can it be altered? Where do I go?

FWIW, she got the coat from Nordstroms a while back and they sometimes offer alterations there.
