View Full Version : Where are you all getting your fall boots?

I'd love a pair of knee-high, low/no heel brown leather boots (originally wanted more of a cognac color, but now I'm torn between that and dark brown). :) So far I've only had time to look at Macy's (disappointing- they only had like 4 pairs in stock!)...

I've looked at a few websites of places I can try later on in person (Clarks, Aerosoles, Target), but I'm not sure where else to look. I want to buy them from a B&M store because I'm not sure what size I need (have to wear them with orthotics due to my Plantar Fasciitis), and I really want to make sure I like how they look and feel. (I don't want to have to order a ton of pairs in different sizes and send a ton back.)
I'm definitely going to go to DSW to look, also possibly Nordstrom since they have such a great shoe department. Any other recommendations? I don't want to spend more than $200 and wish I could find a coupon somewhere!

Where did you get yours for this fall, or where are you thinking of looking?
Oh, and I'm fine with pleather if it still looks classy. ;)

Thanks!

I got these (not for that price - lol - it was just the first link I found) in black.

Love them! Unfortunately, I live in AZ and it will be forever until it is cold enough o warrant boots.

TJMaxx and Marshalls here have a great selection in a wide price range. I ordered a pair from Piperlime and loved that it was free shipping and free returns (I ordered 2 different boots in 2 sizes and ended up just keeping one) and they often have coupon codes, as well. I know you said you wanted to buy B & M, but just wanted to throw that out. I hate to pay shipping to return something, so Piperlime really appeals to me.

I plan to look at DSW b/c they have so many in one spot vs store to store.

I scored bit at Nordstrom Rack a month ago. I also found a bunch at DSW in the clearance section but returned them when I found better ones I liked better at the Rack. My online go to sources are 6pm.com (prices change daily), endless.com, amazon.com, dsw and famous footwear. Free returns at DSW (in store), endless and ff (in store). It's easiest if there is a brand (or two) you prefer and know how they fit so you can search and stalk for good deals. Most of these sites offer me cashback (mrrebates etc..), rewards and free shipping which are key.

I was just at DSW today and they had a *ton* of boots.
If you want brown suede and have an average calf width, these are great. They have them in black in store, so you could try on, and then order.

I got a pair of Cole Haan boots on clearance at Nordstrom Rack back in June. If I hadn't, I would be looking at Piperlime or 6pm.com.

Zappos! Free overnight shipping and free returns, they have loads of boots. My fave brand recently is Miz Mooz, last year I got a pair of super comfy flat riding boots in cognac on sale from endless, and just now picked up a burgundy pair on clearance on infinityboots.com.

Nordstrom's, but this is my splurge for fall (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/tory-burch-aaden-tall-boot/3168273?origin=category&resultback=3132) - I've been dying for some equestrian-style boots for 2 years now, I always wait for a sale, and I always miss out on the styles I want. This will be year I finally get the pair that I want!!! However, they have a really large boot selection with several around $200 or a little under.

I just got these in black from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Womens-Brrlin-Boot-Black/dp/B003CJT8HM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314826250&sr=8-1
They are cute and really comfy, plus I love the buckle on the calf to adjust them.

I just got these at Nordstrom

I really wanted the Frye Melissa or Shirley but hoping these tide me over so I don't need to spend $400.

They are super cute and are real leather upper which is important to me in a tall boot.

Do you have a Nordstrom Rack? I was there about a month ago and saw a ton of boots!

I would never buy shoes from Target because I once wore them and the quality was so poor (of course, this was Target brand) that they rubbed a sore in my foot and I had trouble walking. My doctor gave me a tetanus shot and some other shot for infection.

I second zappos. Free next day shipping and returns. If you want to do an exchange, they ship the replacement next day too as soon as you call them (they don't wait to receive the first pair). Awesome CS!

I got a pair of UGG Jillians in chocolate and a pair of Hunter wellies in bitter chocolate from them. Love both pairs!

I third Zappo's. I asked to be on their VIP list to get free next day shipping. The nice thing is you can search boots by size, color, calf width and boot height to get something that will fit your calves perfectly.

My new boots:
La Canadienne Galaxy in brown suede (http://www.zappos.com/la-canadienne-galaxy-brown-suede)
http://a1.zassets.com/images/727/7278061/4974-328854-d.jpg
These are so comfy with the wedge heels. I can walk in them all day and they feel just like my comfy clogs. And the boots fit my calves like a glove. I could wear these every day!

I also got a pair from Endless:
Aquatalia Vavoom (http://www.endless.com/dp/B0038U42ZI/180-0038597-7607724?ie=UTF8&creative=395033&suppressRedirect=1&linkCode=asn&tag=googlecom09c9_endless-20&creativeASIN=B0038U42ZI&ref_=asc_df_B0038U42ZI1689147)

These are my sexy superhero rain boots, LOL! Still working up the courage to wear these out of the house!
