My Cuisinart gave up after ~3 years of use. It would consistently boil over with the Japanese brown rice I made regularly. Any suggestions for a replacement?

Many thanks!

I love my Zojirushi rice cooker. I don't have the fuzzy logic ones just a plain straight forward rice cooker, like this one....does the job just fine...no boil over (though, I've never tried Japanese brown rice, but do cooker regular sushi, jasmine, long grain, mexican, and basmati kinds). It cooks fast, in about 20 minutes or so. My friend has the fuzzy logic one and she told me it takes over an hour. I've have mine for over 8 years now.

I have a medium sized Zojirushi fuzzy logic one. It's great. I make steel cut oatmeal and other weird stuff in it all the time.

I have two Aroma Cool Touch rice cookers. I started out with a 16 or 20 cup one but it was really overkill for our needs so now I have this 8 cup one (http://www.aroma-housewares.com/kitchen/appliances/ARC-914SBB.html?id=QU4fqYMV). I love it. It cooks quickly and does a great job on smaller amounts of rice. It is easy to clean and doesn't take up as much space as the larger ones.

I highly recommend the Zojirushi brand. We've had cheaper models and they always overflow. Never had our Zojirushi overflow. Hoping to replace ours (burnt out after 8 years) soon!

I love my Zojirushi rice cooker. Mine has a timer so that I can set the rice to cook when I go to bed at night and have it just be done when I wake up. This is perfect for having freshly cooked rice when I need it. When I don't set it to timer, it cooks really quicky --usual about 20 minutes.

I have this one http://www.amazon.com/Zojirushi-NHS-10-Cooker-Steamer-Warmer/dp/B00004S576/ref=sr_1_17?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1314651586&sr=1-17

It works fine for us (rice is good, easy to use), when I replace it I will get same brand, but higher end.

Been using ours for years with no problem:

Zojirushi 6 Cup Rice Cooker / Steamer

ETA: oops, maybe I have the 10 cup. I didn't know there were different sizes that look the same, and I'm not at home to check mine out.

We have the nice Cuisinart one too and always have that problem with boiling over.

I think we had better luck with the cheap ones from Chinatown. (Although keep in mind that our nearby Chinatowns offer many options, so YMMV.)

I have this one for our 3-person family. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_21?field-keywords=zojirushi+rice+cooker&url=search-alias%3Dgarden&x=0&y=0&sprefix=zojirushi+rice+cooker

I have a Wolfgang Puck rice cooker from HSN. The recipes that come with it, especially the risotto and Mac and cheese are awesome!

we have a zojirushi with fuzzy logic. it's got different settings for type of rice and will keep rice warm once cooked. it's also pretty much idiot proof, so even i can make good tasting rice.
