We took our son to the carousel this weekend and he loved it, so we are going to have his 2nd bday party there. It is open 11-5. At home he naps 11:30-2, at daycare they nap somewhere between 12:30-3. (We'll be inviting his class of 12, they are all 2yo).

Which start time would you prefer? 11a, 2p, 2:30p, 3p. It will be a Saturday.

Thanks!

I like the 3pm time. It gives you a chance to have the nap and get the kids ready without doing too much rushing around.

DD is 2 and she naps from 2-4 or occasionally 3-5 so we would want the 11am start time.

Since you already know the nap schedule of the kids in daycare, I would go for 3 pm. I always appreciate being able to keep DD on the same schedule on the weekends, it gets you out of the warmest part of the day and 2 hours is PLENTY of time. This way the party won't drag on.

ETA: weird....I didn't vote but it won't let me.

Glad to hear the carousal thing will work out for you!

I would say the earliest or the latest. DS naps at 11:30ish at daycare, but on the weekends we often start later. I voted 11:00 but 3:00 would fit well for us too. I'd say the timing would determine whether you offer lunch.

I voted for 11am. Most kids nap at 1:00, after lunch.
My kids are not at their best in the afternoons, often cranky, and I try to not schedule afternoon events.

Since you know the weekday schedule is an early nap, I'd go for the 3pm slot.

When DD was that age, I really did not take to many afternoon events because of nap. I voted for 11. We would have struggled to get her up and be somewhere at 3pm. 4 would have been more doable, but then you would only have an hour for the party.

I did 3 or 4 pm parties for the years that DD1 turned 2, 3, and 4 and it worked out fine.

I find doing parties BEFORE DS naps on weekends works better even if it puts his nap later than the 11:30 he gets during the week. So I'd prefer the 11a time

3p would be the other possible.

I voted 3 pm. Not only is it convenient for everyone's nap but also you'll only provide snacks.

11 or 3 would work here but 11 is better. F is usually out from 1-3 or 2-4 but if there was a party at 3, I would try and aim for the earlier nap spot. He is pretty flexible.

I voted 11 am. Yes, the kids will get down a little late, but that way no one is rushing tryign to wake baby up to get ready before leaving home for anyoen who usually puts baby down late for nap at home. Also, my bet is it will be less crowded at 11am than at 3pm.

I would probably vote 11 am as well. Here in TX it would also be cooler outside at 11 vs 3 pm.
