1yr old DD doesn't like her sippy cup at ALL.

DD was just in bed with her grandma and grabbed the cup they gave Nana in the hospital and proceeded to drink.

The hospital cup is a little too big for DD to handle so I'm now in search of a smaller cup with a secure top that she can handle on her own.

Any recommendations? TIA

I feel like I tried them all right around that age! Everyone here loves the Thermos Foogo cups & they are my favorite now (DD is 2 1/2.) But they were too big & heavy for her at 1. Plus, then she would just drop them - then they'd leak & that was painful with the heavy Foogo.

My absolute favorites for that age (& we still use them a lot now) are the Munchkin Flip-top straw cups. http://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-Mighty-Straw-2-Pack-Colors/dp/B001QXCF0S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314708953&sr=8-1

The flip top allows you to protect the straw & keep it clean when you throw it in your diaper bag. Plus they don't leak, they're light & really easy for little hands to hold onto. It takes a little playing around at first to figure out how the top & straw work together, but once you figure it out, it's easy.

FWIW, my DS never liked sippies either...but he hated the valved straw cups even more. We've always done the Take-N-Toss straw cups. They aren't leak proof...but usually aren't too bad if they are dropped and picked up fairly quickly.

DD loves the Playtext First Sipster straw cups (the ones with handles) and the Playtex insulated straw cups.

We use Take n Toss cups and regular straws.

We started with the old-style Take n Toss, then moved to the Playtex First Sipster, then moved to progressively more advanced Playtex sippies. I tried pretty much every other brand, but Playtex worked best for us.

I used these, but I like the Munchkin insulated flip top straw cups even better. That's what we still use. I think they leak less than the uninsulated ones.

Nuby straw cup (http://www.diapers.com/p/Nuby-Mega-Straw-Sipper-12-ounce-6756), I recently have only seen these at Wal Mart though, and they were $2.89 I think. It takes a bit of work because it's actually a bite valve, but DD2 who has 6 teeth picked it up pretty quickly.

We have this Nuby cup (http://www.diapers.com/p/Nuby-2-Handle-Straw-Cup-21185), and DD loves it (it's a little different from the one AnnieW posted). DD started using it around 8 or 9 months I think and it's never been a problem. She hated the Gerber sippy cup and I did too - I thought it was really hard to drink from when I tried it. The Nuby is really easy to drink from (I've tried it) and it's easy to hold for DD, but it doesn't leak. Love this cup.
