We have a week and a half left until school starts. My son is in playgroup already, and I have 2 incredibly bored girls at home. Any ideas for activities?

Fruit picking? I wish I could take my girls, but they have afternoon school which starts at 11:30. a little too early to make it to the nearest orchard and back.

Beach? Science museum? zoo?

Anywhere the light rail goes works for my kid, even just to the park and back. It's the journey that matters as much as the destination sometimes.

All of the above! Do you have any clean bounce-house type places around?

I second the fruit picking idea. Apples and peaches are the easiest b/c it goes pretty fast. We also have a membership to the zoo, which has more than paid for itself.

NOthing new to say, but I agree with the pps. Zoo, science museums, fruit picking, nature center or just getting together with friends for a playdate are what we'd do in your situation.

Library, new park, fruit picking, pool, museums, kid friendly lunch spot, go see daddy's office at lunch time, movies . . . .

I organized a group picnic for my DD#1's grade at a local park -- it is on Sept. 1. Hopefully the weather cooperates and people READ their email (ie., it is a BYO picnic, no I am not cooking for 45 families, LOL). Those who have responded, thought it was a great idea. Very low key, the kids can have some fun at the park and the parents can exchange survival stories from the summer.
