Had copper IUD inserted and have questions?

I had the copper IUD inserted yesterday, I was on 3rd day of the cycle. It was painful when it was inserted but there was no pain by the evening. I hardly have any bleeding right now. GYN said I shouldn't have sex for 10 days. And I don't think its due to the possibility of becoming pregnant, as she also said not to insert anything for 10 days, including sex. I don't think I can wait that long:bag I feel fine and wants to be with DH. Is there a reason why I shouldn't?

Well it's only been 1 day, the reason to hold off is because the gyn said to. Sorry I don't have great advice but I wouldn't want to risk having something go wrong.

I didn't mean I want to today, but 10 days seem a bit too long. Oh well, if that's the case, we can wait. Thanks!!

We didn't wait 10 days. My first midwife didn't give me that restriction and the 2nd one did give me some time frame.
