I just got home with a set of new Duralex Picardie glasses from Costco and when I opened the box, there was a piece of cinnamon gum stuck to the rim of one of the glasses! The glass was on the top layer of the box but packaged rim down so the gum was also stuck to the box. Obviously I can wash them (as I would anyway) but WWYD? I didn't know what to think.

Yup - I'd clean off the gum and run them through the dishwasher on sanitize - and call 'em good.

Check for any other signs of damage. If that's it, I'd remove it and wash the set. If there is any other yuckiness, I'd take the whole box back to Costco for an exchange. They're really good about returns and exchanges.
