Ever "hidden" something from yourself? How about your kids' entire new school wardrobe?

My big stockpile of clothes for my two girls was stuffed into a suitcase in our closet. And in the middle of last minute packing for a quick vacation, we realized we needed that suitcase. So I stashed the clothes.... somewhere.

Your guess is as good as mine.

Two days of searching on the sly. Nada. I finally just told my DH who was extremely amused and quite possibly rolled his eyes at me. I don't want to tell my girls yet because, well, I feel like an idiot. Fortunately we haven't donated clothes recently so the stash has got to be around here somewhere!

Any mom mojo you can send my way would be appreciated. School starts Tuesday. Please, please clothing gods-- let the outfits be found by then!!

In another suitcase? (I'm guilty of this one) Laundry room cabinets? Under your bed...kids beds... guest bed? Top shelf of hall closet? GL!

Do you have any lurking piles of "dirty" laundry? If I set aside the clothes in a pile, my DH would certainly scoop them up and throw them in the laundry room basket.

good luck!

Garage? My only stashes around the house have been chocolate and usually DH finds them if I forget where I've 'hidden' them!

Mojo to you!
And don't feel too silly, today I found my GPS which has been missing inside my own car for 4 weeks. I knew it was in there somewhere......

Under a bed? It seems quite likely you would have stashed them somewhere near where the suitcase was.

Sending you mojo and lots of it. I would guess it to be in a box under the bed.

Sending lots of mojo. You have looked everywhere where it HAS TO BE hidden. Check in plain sight. It's probably right on a chair or something. (Trust me....I do this all the time.)

BBB mojo! I vote to keep checking everywhere in that same closet and then other closets....although you really might want to ask your dds for help...because my other vote is one of them put it somewhere.

eta: And agree with getting someone else to look. You need a fresh pair of eyes.

Sending more MOJO. I hate when I do things like that because I become a bit obsessive when I cannot find something (it has to be SOMEWHERE).

And you didn't put them back in the suitcase on your return? Or in another suitcase? That's where I would look.

I vote for under the bed. Good luck and sending lots of mojo!

Mojo to you!

Yep. And it was about a year ago that I freaked over losing my new cell phone. Searched everywhere for 3 hours. Posted on FB about to have friends ring it. Went nuts because I could hear a tantalizing, faint ring...ring...ring but couldn't locate it.

Finally, I found it in the fridge, zipped inside my Medela breast milk cooler. I must've dropped it in there during my morning pump session. D'oh!

(Have you checked the fridge?)

Found the clothes!!!

File this under the "You can't make this $hit up" category.

The Case of the Missing Clothes

To recap: I couldn't remember what I had done with our back to school clothing stash. I'd taken it out of the "storage" suitcase to use the bag on a trip. After two days of searching, I knew I needed some board Mojo.

What followed: Thanks to your ideas, I had Hope. And a Plan.

Laundry -- Nope.
Under my daughter's bed-- No luck.
Walking out of her room, saw her purple suitcase.
Remembered the suggested on here to look in other luggage and-- BINGO!!

Clothes found. Obviously I must have moved her clothes into the bigger suitcase and put the clothes in here. Or so I think:

Me, running out to living room to tell DH: "Honey! I found the clothes!"
Six year old DD interupts: "What clothes?"
Me: "Your school clothes. I lost them. But don't worry baby because I found them."
DH: "Where were they?"
Me: "In DD's suitcase!"
DD: "I know that."
Me: "You know that?"
DD: "Remember when I decided to run away last week?"
Me: "MmHmmm...."
DD: "Well, I wasn't going to leave behind all my new clothes. So I went in your closet and I packed them."
Me: "You PACKED them?"
DD: "Yes, and I liked what you bought DD2 so I packed that too."

:hysterical:

If my kids aren't driving me crazy, they are making me think I'm crazy, I'm never sure which is which.

Don't you love when they do things like that??? I'm cracking up, because you are completely right that it goes in the "you can't make this $hit up" file! But your DD's reasonings make great sense!:rotflmao:

I will be searching for my keys on the way out the door, running late, and after 10 minutes, DD will ask what I am looking for, I will tell her, and she will hand them over... after watching me tear the house apart looking for them! Really child, you couldn't have told me that before???

:hysterical: I'm assuming DD2's clothes wouldn't even fit her! I'm so glad you found them! And surprised that I was right about the suitcase but it was a fluke because I was assuming YOU had misplaced them!

I wonder what else she packed...

OK..that is hysterical. I agree, our kids ARE making us crazy!
I ask my DS where things are, does her remember X. He often knows the answer and can remind me. I say it's because he only has 6 years to remember and my head is stuffed with sooo much more information.

Did it once with a hairdryer. Upstairs sink was leaking to the basement in the middle of a birthday party, so in a frenzy, I cleared away the bathroom stuff, including the hairdryer.... and didn't remember where I put it until I stumbled on it months later.

Sounds like you found them!

So... were the tags on? Did she also pack the receipts so she could return her sister's clothes and get a little cash back for the road?
