DC metro area ppl...have you been hearing planes overhead for the last 2 days?

I thought it was thunder. But it has been 2 days of planes doing fly overs (at least it sounds like that). It's been pretty constant. Have you heard anything?

Stepped up patrols for 9/11?

That is what I am assuming. If it has been done in the past (other than right after 9/11) I do not remember it being so loud or constant. I'm not complaining about it. It's just a reminder of the world we now live in.

I noticed it last night and I had thought that it was thunder. There is definite increase in plane activity at night time.

I hear it at night and during the day today until I left the house at 1:30.

Ok, just found out on DCUM it's combat air patrols in response to the small plane threat they announced.
