Keep in mind that I booked the skating rink for a Thursday evening
from 6:30-8:30pm for my kids combo birthday party. (There
is no school the next day for Veteran's Day.)

How far in advance would you send out the invitations?

Since it is a holiday weekend, at least a month in advance. A party the night before might affect the plans of the family if they were thinking of going out of town for a 3 day weekend. If they know there is a party the night before, they can plan to leave the next morning.

I always send them out 3 wks before. I want them to RSVP usually by the end of the 2nd wk, so I have a wk to prep for the party (food/favors).

I usually do three weeks. I always put an 'Please RSVP by' on it. Otherwise I have had people calling me the day before!

I always send out invites about 1 month in advance, even though we have home parties. I figure people's schedule fill up quickly.

That's my time line too. If I really want someone to be there then I email them a heads up when I nail done date and time.

I would do a save-the-date email one month prior and the actual invitation 2w prior.

I think sending them out over 2 weeks in advance is too soon. I think 2 weeks in advance is perfect!

We send ours out two weeks in advance. Any further out and invitations get lost or forgotten.

I would mention the party ahead of time to people, but I send invites out about 2 weeks ahead of time. When I tried sending them out earlier they got lost or forgotten about and I had a harder time hunting down RSVPs. I also learned for daycare put the invites in cubbies on a Friday. Most of the parents didn't take anything home until Friday, and I could see the invites getting shoved on back in the cubbies.

Unfortunately, I don't have everyone's email. I could do a save-the-date
email for the people that I do have an email address.
