I am wearing this dress to a wedding. I need shoes to go with. I wore it last year with a pair of open toed black patent heels, but they KILLED me. I have wide feet too so I need to find wide width shoes (usually only for heels) I can wear most regular width shoes, but for heels its best to find wide width.

I am thinking of getting these shoes. Nude shoes seem like they would be a good match, no? Not sure about the color exactly since there are so many different shades of nude. What do you think?

or what about these?

I'd prefer a lower heel. I think it will be more comfy for me since I dont wear heels often. Plus I have an achillles injury I am nursing.

Would these work?

I like the first pair best and then the third pair for that dress. I like the second pair but not with that dress. I don't care for the last pair.

Love the dress!

Dress seems to scream (to me) for an open toe pair but that depends on the venue as well.

Its a late afternoon wedding at a Catholic church and then at the marriott in Cambridge MA.

Heel is higher than I would like but I like but besides that I like them and they come in wide!

I like the second pair the best, followed by the first. The last two seem to "work" to me.

I personally probably wouldn't wear nude pumps with that dress, they seem a bit light, especially this time of year. (of course it's hard to tell colors on a computer). Maybe bronze?

ETA: not necessarily these shoes (I'd fall over in those heels!) but this general idea:

Definitely not buying bronze shoes!

Do people think BLACK would be better? The wedding is in early October

I love my bronze shoes and think they'd look good with the dress. It's a compromise between stark black and a more summery nude, imo. Don't totally rule them out. :) Nude or black would be ok though. The last ones you posted though are too off white to me. I stay away from white shoes. I like the darker tan of the last ones in your first post for the color but would probably buy the 2nd ones in that 1st post.

Great dress!!

If I go with black again, would you get leather or patent leather?

Part of me says leather b/c of the Catholic wedding part- a bit more subdued. But, you could get away with either.

Hmm, I actually think the bronze would really look good with that dress, especially in the fall. If you don't like the bronze, I'd probably go with black or brown. Nude looks kind of summery to me.

Options 1 or 2. The other two seem more practical/business like. I think bronze would be perfect and you would get way more wear out of bronze/dark gold shoes because it's kind of hard to pull off nude in the dead of winter whereas you could wear bronze shoes with anything all year round.

Could you do something like these:

http://www.colehaan.com/colehaan/catalog/product.jsp?sizeDescription=&catId=100&productId=383680&productGroup=383683&pwpHash=shop,pwp,c-100/f-10001%2B70016%2B4294966411/ipp-40/pn-3&scrX=0&scrY=114

Or these (dark brown metallic - great price!):

Or these would be perfect (black patent):

http://www.6pm.com/cole-haan-air-carma-open-toe-pump

You would get a ton of wear out of open toe patent pumps. I don't think patent is unacceptable for a Catholic wedding (I am Catholic and have been to a ton of Catholic weddings, as well as my own). Just my two cents.

I think nude would be ok, but we're still in summer here, so not sure how that would "feel" in Oct. I personally think Bronze would be great w/that dress (not as dark as black, but not as light as nude). It's still a neutral, so could go w/a lot of other things as well. I heard that when you do nude shoes, to try to match your skintone, so I end up w/shoes that are more of a taupe color. Of the ones you listed, I like the 1st 2 the best. The last 2 look like they'd go better w/a suit.

I know! I just can't see myself wearing shoes that color.

Try them on. They are fun, neutral and perk up an outfit without being over the top or even too noticeable. Just a little pop of something fun.

Ok, I like all of those but I need wide width shoes. Thats my main problem with buying. Alot of heels are just way too narrow for my feet.

Well thats the other thing. I usually buy shoes online just because there are such limited options of places to buy them around here (Burlington, VT). So I cant just try tons of shoes on and decide. I wish I could!

I also live with crummy shopping. I just order a ton of shoes from Zappos and free return what I don't like. I agree that the bronze could look great and could be a good neutral for the holidays too.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought bronze would work and isn't completely crazy! I was starting to feel like I had suggested these by mistake.

LOL! Ok, maybe bronze would be good, but I guess I didn't like that particularpairof shoes. Not. Fan of huge platform heels. They look like they should be on someone who is twirling around a stripper's pole. It's going to be harder to find bronze in a style I like with wide width, that's for sure! Might just end up with black again. Sigh.

I hear you I'd tip over if I wore the ones I posted. If you search wide shoes on Zappos and select bronze a bunch come up. Maybe these are more your style? They come in wide.

FTR Trigglet, I kind of liked those striped shoes too! I could never wear them, but they're kind of cool. :)

Awesome! I love those and think they will look great w/that dress. A metallic was def the way to go. They look so current. Will it be ok for Oct? I really like that brand for wide shoes.

ETA: Are you saying you bought them in reg width? They do run wide as a brand. I feel like I'm in btwn a reg and wide in Sofft.
