I am distracting myself from various things by playing with decorating ideas. Anyone have a fairly neutral green paint color they love?

Thanks!
Catherine

We have used both of these shades from Restoration Hardware, and love them both (as well as the lighter/darker shades in the same palette!)--we decorated with both as kind of neutrals and it worked pretty well IMO:

Silver Sage:

Bay Laurel:

Benjamin Moore also has a bunch of nice, neutral greens in their historical collection.

We have Dry Sage by Ben Moore in our dining room and I love it!

We just did (last week) Saybrook Sage (BM) in our dining room. I can upload a pic later on. We also have it in DS2's nursery.

Can you get Dunn Edwards in SF? I think you can and if you can I would recommend Distant Landscape. I am 99% sure that's what we used in DD2's bedroom.

I'll upload a photo tonight.

This is funny, I clicked on the thread to respond, but couldn't remember the name of the paint we have in the main areas of our house... so I was preparing to head into the hot garage to read the name off the paint cans, but jenfromnj saved me the trip ;) it's Silver Sage from Restoration Hardware. I love it - very neutral, very calming.

I love all these suggestions! We have a couple of pieces of art I love so I am thinking I should paint up a few big swatches on foam board and see what works with the art. Paint color is an awesome distraction. ;)

Thanks!

Both BM and RH sell the tiny containers of paint, just enough to paint a big enough area to really see the color. Have fun deciding! I drove my DH crazy with paint color sampling, it's definitely a good distraction (or in my case, obsession ;))!

Oh, and BTW, DH didn't want to pay RH prices for the paint. So he took the RH paint chip to the Dunn Edwards store (where our painters had a discount) and had them match the color. :)

BM Soft Fern - neutral, calming, and is a green that does not scream green - a lovely color

My foyer is Benjamin Moore Dried Basil and I really like it. It sometimes has a bit of a grayish green look that I really like. Definitely changes a lot depending on the time of day. http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/driedbasil

I also like the RH Silver Sage.

Another vote for Benjamin Moore Saybrook Sage. I had it in my kitchen in my old house, and in a bathroom in this house. Love it!

Oh I love looking at paint samples. There is a great book that someone told me about that I recently bought - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1588167399
You might want to check it out for greens.

I have no plans to paint anything but love imagining different paint colors on the walls.

We have been happy with Sherwin Williams (6177 Softened Green - a nice sage green for our kitchen (grey undertones so it does not look like a mint green). The adjoining 1/2 bath and laundry room are 1 shade lighter (smaller spaces) but blend perfectly.

The saybrook sage looks really nice but I love that silver sage. I am partial to blue sages over yellow ones.
