I've only used my slow cooker a few times, so I'm quite the amateur.
I want to make a pot roast and the recipe says to brown the meat before putting in the slow cooker. Can I brown the meat in the evening (and put in the refrigerator) and then dump the meat and the rest of the ingredients in the slow cooker the next morning?
