I am planning my first kiddie halloween party. DD is one and the guests will range in age from one to four.

I'm planning to make this an annual event since the kids in this neighborhood don't trick or treat.

Please share the activities you have found most successful memorable at Halloween parties you've attended.

This party will be potluck but I'd also like to know of any cool food/snacks you've had.

I will set up a photo booth and will do a costume parade in our cul de sac.

TIA

You could decorate pumpkins. They are a little young to do the carving but there are a ton of ways to decorate them that don't involve sharp pointy objects. The parents could carve if they so desired (tip -clean out the pumpkin ahead of time). I'm probably going to sound like a broken record but Pinterest has a ton of great ideas.

You could buy foam pumpkin shapes and cut out a whole bunch of "face parts" shaped out of sticker foam and let them make their own face. They could decorate wooden frames with pumpkin and other Halloween sticker and markers (when I did this, I pre-painted the frames).

Seriously though, check out Pinterest.

We do an annual Hween Brunch from about 9-12 on the Saturday before Halloween for our friends w/ young kids. It's great! The kids wear costumes and play, I mix a big batch of mimosas and serve easy brunch foods.
