How much does it cost to make a will with a lawyer? Ours will be pretty simple, no home yet, just some iras, 401ks, checking/savings account and a 3yr old DD and expecting second DC next month. How much can we expect to pay a lawyer to make a will for us? I have decided against the online will softwares as I have heard that they are not right and may not be worth the time. ty

Ours was about $400 a few years ago. I live in the midwest, large town/small city.

We are in the process of getting ours finalized. I expect it to cost $250. Small rural town and a very basic will detailing who gets the kids and our life insurance.

It really depends on your situation, and how detailed you want it to be. A simple will should be between $250-$400 depending on the attorney. If you are setting up trusts, expect it to be a bit more expensive.
