I had my baby....

Baby Ian was born on Monday by c-section weighing 7 lbs 10 oz. He is doing very good, we have fallen in absolute love with him. Big sister is so very excited.

I went in for my induction at 40w 5d at 8 am and started with IV of low dose pitocin at 10am. My contractions really picked up around noon coming ever 2 mins apart. I was on the birthing ball or hands and knees alternating positions with the doula's help. In the next 2.5 hrs, I progressed from 3 to 8 cm. But when my doctor came and checked me he found that the baby was face presentation and pushing would be risky, putting pressure on the baby's neck, so we opted for a c-section. My doula and the nurse kept saying that had the baby been in the right position, I could have easily pushed him out. I am just glad, he is out safe and healthy :yay:
Nursing is going well, my milk hasn't come in, but he latches on very well and is a good nurser.

I wanted to thank all the wonderful BBB mamas for their amazing support and wealth of information I got during this pregnancy.

My girl was turned around, too. We didn't need a C-section but her birth certainly didn't go as "planned." I'm just so very thankful that the medical interventions were there for us in the end, when we needed them! It sounds like you have that perspective as well. Well done.
