DS wants to learn to play chess. Gotta love the positive peer pressure at school. A couple of boys go to the chess club after school, and have taught DS a little during free play in the classroom. He wants a chess set to have at home so he can learn. Once his soccer practice is over, he can go to chess club. DH and I don't play, so we need something to teach us.

Thanks.

Check out the No Stress Chess set - it's very cool. I don't play and I am using it with DH to try to learn how! I got mine from amazon.

I am not very good but DH is. If DH was always home it would have been so much easier :)

I second the No Stress Chess recc. I needed it to remind myself how to play. He's much better than I am now. FWIW, DS1 started Chess club last year and he loves it. It's the most popular extracurricular at their school. It must be fun!

My DS loved the No Stress Chess, and you can use it for traditional chess as well. I'm still learning, so I make him play the No Stress version with me! He also loves Chess w/ Friends on my iphone and he plays against his grandparents who live far away.

DS goes to the library Chess club and they teach chess, but still start with No Stress Chess.

Can anyone compare No Stress Chess to Quickchess? We have Quickchess but I'm wondering how they compare.

Thanks :)
