Ugh, new tennis shoes, already (!) for 8 y.o. ds--UPDATE

Yea for Nordys. They looked up the receipt and gave me new pair of shoes!

We bought ds new Geox tennis shoes at the beginning of school in mid-August. Yesterday when he was fastening the Velcro, that strap broke. He has a pair of Merrells that he is wearing today but he wants tennis shoes for everyday.

What would you do? Buy him another expensive pair because they hold up better (ha)? Go to Payless or Target and buy a cheap pair? Order a pair from LE or LLBean (risking it for fit) because if he destroys them in a month and a half, they would replace them for free? Other?

ETA. Another option, take them back to Nordstrom and ask for a new pair--don't have a receipt anymore though.

I would try to take it back to Nordstorm to exchange. It's only been a month and a half and Geox is not cheap. Can they look up the purchase with your credit card. Or another option is to contact Geox directly. I expect even shoes I get from Target to last longer than that.
