Z keeps taking my ipod touch and doesn't understand that when you hit the button on the bottom, it exits out of the game she was playing (or book she was reading) It's beyond frustrating. She also tries desperately to play the big kids' Leapster explorers but obviously doesn't understand how to so she just gets mad and brings it to me.

is there something out there that would do something like these that is age appropriate for a 2 year old?

I bet she catches on pretty quickly about the button, my DDs did. It sure was annoying until they did!

FWIW, they have Leapsters and don't like them, they much prefer the Touch (really my old iPhones) The Leapsters were giifts from someone who didn't ask, I feel bad because they're not inexpensive, and if SIL had asked I would have said they like the touches they use.

I agree with the PPs, get a pretend laptop for now. In less than a year she'll have mastered the Touch.

My favorite game for the very young is Peekaboo Barn. DD loved it at age 2. Even my 15 month old pretty much gets it, at least on the ipad. Peek-a-Bouncer is even simpler and another good one to try.
