View Full Version : What shoes are your 2-year old DD's wearing?

I need recommendations for shoes for my 29 month old DD. She's not very coordinated, so I prefer to get her shoes with a softer sole, if possible.

She has a pair of Tsukihoshi (sp?) sneakers, so now I need to find a mary jane-style for her. Not the fancy kind, but something she can wear to the playground and with playdresses.

I love the look of these: http://www.endless.com/dp/B004QLAYJ6/184-7921578-2354050?ie=UTF8&creative=395033&suppressRedirect=1&linkCode=asn&tag=googlecom09c9_endless-20&creativeASIN=B004QLAYJ6&ref_=asc_df_B004QLAYJ61725415 in brown, but I'm not sure if I can stomach the price tag. Plus, DD is a 6.5, so I'm worried that the 6/6.5 size will be too small for her and the next size up will be too big.

Anyone care to share what their DDs are wearing for non-sneaker play shoes?

I'm probably not a good one to answer, but here goes. At 2 my DD wore a size 8. And, $46 for a pair of shoes is about average for DD's shoes at that age. At 4 DD's shoes are costing me between $50 and $60/pair.--CAVEAT: DD only gets one pair of shoes a season. We have the Tuskihoshi sneakers and I know they have MJ's that are nice and flexible as well.

That's about what I always end up paying for my girls shoes, I know the price is hard to stomach though. My DD2 is 2 1/2 (3 in Jan.) right now she is wearing sneakers from stride rite:

Those are pretty flexible, they're more of a sneaker than a playshoe, we haven't bought a pair of play shoes yet yet but I have had these in the past for DD1 and these are great as well, DD2 also tried these on when we were at the store and they were great:

DD2 wears a 6 right now, and I was comfortable with the fit and flexibility of both of these. We have a pair of shoes similar to the 2nd left over from DD1, that are in great condition, so DD2 is just wearing those for now, as her maryjanes.

Lands End has good shoes and they often have sales. If they don't work out, you can return them to Sears. This pair is on sale for a great price and you can usually find a free shipping code and often an extra % off code:

DD is 26months and is just at the end of a size 5. I just bought our 3rd pair of pediped isabella in chocolate brown.
http://www.amazon.com/pediped-Grip-N-Go-Isabella-Toddler-Chocolate/dp/B00427YK12/ref=sr_1_3?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1317477349&sr=1-3

Intially the crib style but the "grip and go" for size 5 (20) and now 6 (21). LOVE the brown. Can be fancy enough to go with dresses or great with jeans too. DD wears them almost daily, and they stilll look new enough to pass down.

Keep your eye out for endless or piperlime promotions, everynow and then you can get a 20% off that allows you to use on pediped.

The ones you picked are supercute! Having bought inexpensive but cute shoes in the past, pedipeds are expensive but well worth it in "wear per $" IMHO.

I love the pedipeds that wallawala posted!

My DD#2 is also 29m, but wearing a size 9 (we all have big feet). Right now, she has a pair of Merrell mary janes, and two pairs of Umis:

They're all great shoes, but might not be quite as flexible as you'd like for your DD.

I bought C something very similar to this shoe. Honestly, though, the kid usually slips on her Crocs! She has a regular pair and a pair with the warm lining.

My DD had pedoodles at that point. We alternated a sneaker looking pair and a pair of Mary janes. In fact her feet are so small (8.5ish) I just bought her a new pair of pedoodles Mary janes.
