How long can I let chicken marinade in the refrigerator?? I wash the chicken before adding the marinade. Can I let it marinade in the freezer and defrost overnight?? DD loves tandoori chicken and I would like to make prepare enough marinade to last a couple of weeks. Should I just put it in the freezer and use as needed???

I'm not sure what is in tandoori. But we've used a citrus marinade, teriyaki, etc on raw chicken and then stuck it in the freezer for grilling later. We put it in the fridge to defrost the night before we want to grill and it marinates as it defrosts. We haven't had a problem. We've done the same with various steaks, london broil. It's worked fine for us.

The only thing that didn't work so well, was a buttermilk chicken marinade (and it came from a freezer meal cookbook - go figure). The buttermilk seemed to separate and really didn't seem appetizing. But marinades with citrus, soy, ginger, oil, garlic, vinegars, misc herbs, have worked for us.
