eta: Thanks for all the help. For anyone else looking, I found many in stores once I looked IRL. I got one at Big Lots, which had three styles without sherpa lining, Sam's Club had one, walmart.com and kohls.com each had one.

Not sure where to put this question, but there are some serious shoppers in Bargains, so here goes. Anyone know where I can buy a minky throw blanket in adult-size? I am getting nowhere googling. My budget is about $40 or less.

I bought one at a going-out-of-business sale a few years ago for about $25, so hopefully this isn't a rare request. But as I said, it certainly appeared hard from my googl results.

eta: I started finding some by using the term "mink throw" instead of minky, especially on JC Penney and Bed Bath and Beyond. But, just to get picky, I'd prefer one WITHOUT sherpa lining on the reverse side, and that seems a bit harder.

I purchased one at Pier 1 a few years ago. It's heavy, but not too thick; soft & smooth on one side, shiny fur-like on the other (not thick, sherpy-ish fleece). It was available in brown, red, or black. Sometimes you can find a $10 off $30 coupon and IIRC it was about $45.

I've seen tons of plush throws at Macy's, would this be similar to what you're looking for?

I'd google microfiber or micro plush since I think Minky is a fabric line. Unless you're looking for the textured kind in which case you could buy yardage of the fabric and sew a throw.

I would check etsy. Minky is popular for newborn blankets but I bet you could ask someone to make you an adult size one. I have also seen minky fabric at Joahn's. If you could sew, or could have someone just finish the edges that would work, and you could use a coupon on the fabric for 40% off. Just a thought.

Costco might have what you want. They have some really soft, fuzzy blankets right now.

i think it might be 'minkee' as the trade name, so try that.

I've seen some at TJMaxx (so probably homegoods and marshalls would have them too) and sam's club as well as dept stores.

I found this website through a google search -

They have all different sizes.

I have one from Costco that I love. I think it was $19 and I bought it in the last year. It looks similar to this one on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QIYVHO
