I am used to paying basement prices (50 cents/pr) but have not had any luck finding second hand in good shape lately. Ds2 needs 2-piece pajamas and now that I know that I'll be handing them down to a Ds3 I am considering buying new.

So, what is a reasonable price to expect to pay new?

I am starting with size 24mo or 2T.

I think I pay about $11.99 for kirkland pj's at costco. I have paid about $16 for new character pj's when I could not find anything decent on consignment also.

DD likes carters nightgowns, usually around $10-$12 at kohls.
DS sleeps in HA baby zippers, usually $15 at the outlet.

I get either the kirkland PJs PP mentioned or Carter's fleece PJ's at costco and they are usually less than $10 a pair.

i get Hanna PJs from either Costco (1pc for $11.99) or the 2pc from the outlets (recently scored for $10 each, sometimes i pay up to $20 if i really like the stripe color pattern). IMO Hanna is really good for clothes (esp PJs) that you know will get handed down to another DC..they last pretty well.

i also sometimes get Carter's fleece PJs at costco for $8 for the winter.

The Kirkland ones are pretty nice for $11. Gap and Gymboree also always have patterns on sale for around the same price, although the Gap ones are not as thick as either Gymboree or Kirkland. For fleece pajamas, I just invested in some LE two piece with feet.

I buy the Carter's spin off ones from Target (Just One You, I think) and it is 4 pieces, 100% cotton for $15. best deal I've found and I love them.

No more than $10 for Carter's fleece footies. Up to $22-23 for Hanna ones.

For size 5T and under, I can always find Just One Year by Carter's at Target on clearance for $3.74 for a 3 or 4 piece set. DS2 loves them and we use them in conjunction with Hannas that we get on clearance.

DS1 is trickier. I aim for $10 - $15 per pair...Hannas or Carters.

I usually bought Hannas. I think when my eldest was that age I'd try to get them at the outlets or on eBay for around $15. Now you can find zippers at Costco in that range.

Generally I pay around $20, now, though, b/c they wear organic cotton PJs. If we were doing polyester I would imagine you can find them much much less expensively.

$8 or so. Carters at Sams Club, the First Years (carters) at Walmart or cotton footy jammies at children's Place.

For 2 piece pj's I have been getting the faded glory organic cotton boxed pj's @ Walmart on clearance for $3 a pair.

I buy Hanna PJs, which would be a good option for you if you are planning to hand them down b/c they last forever. I've paid anywhere from $5-$25 for them, but on average, around $15. They're on sale at the outlets (you can call to order and they will ship) for $10; I think the sale ends Monday.

The Gap and ON ones aren't hand-me-down quality, and I've paid $10 or so for them but then not been able to hand them down. Carters on sale can be much cheaper, but the cotton is much thinner. Their fleece PJs I usually buy on eBay to avoid fresh flame retardants! Carters fleece PJs, especially the older ones from 5+ years ago, wear really well - my younger DD is wearing 10+ yr old Carters fleece PJs worn by at least 3 kids before her!

We have bought Hanna's on sale sometimes, but mostly, I just get these too.

I have been pretty happy with them and DD wears them a long time.

They no longer look new, but I will likely pass them down anyway. They are in good shape (no holes or thin fabric), just faded.

I buy the Carter's spin off ones from Target (Just One You, I think) and it is 4 pieces, 100% cotton for $15. best deal I've found and I love them.

I think those are $5 when NOT on sale, or at least the baby ones are. I like them for summer but they're not warm.

The other day I paid $9.35 at Kohl's for Carter's fleece footed PJ's in size 2T. That's a very good price.

So far, we've gotten:

Hanna Andersson organic cotton pjs: $10-12 (Costco & HA outlets)

Carter's fleece footed sleepers: $8 (Costco)

Carter's Just One Year cotton footed sleepers: $0 (gifts from Target)

We love the Hanna zippers the most (just got some long johns we'll start using soon too). The Carter's fleece footies are great for cold nights. Carter's sleepers from Target have held up just fine, although they've shrunk in the dryer a bit.

I usually won't pay more than 10 dollars for a new pair of pj's. That is getting harder now that DD1 is getting older, the last pair I bought for her I believe was 14.99, but I have two other DDs to pass them down too, so that is how I justify the cost (on a lot of things).

I'm a crazy bargain shopper - I pick up pj's when they are sale priced at the end of the season (i.e., winter pjs in March & summer pjs/nightgowns in Sept).

I usually pay about $4 for crazy 8, gymbo, carter's, etc 2 piece pj's; nightgowns run a little more. I've been lucky that my oldest daughter only grows one size a year (she's a size 5/6 6 year old) so it's worked out so far...

We do only HA 2 piece LJs. They last YEARS. DS1 gets 2 good years out of them and then DS2 does. I pay sale price maybe $20-$25

No more than $15 for Hanna long johns, so that limits me to EOS, and EOS outlet sales, but I am fine with that. I have two polyester blend night gowns from Gymboree that I bought in 2008 and I think they were $10. $11.99 for Kirkland Long Johns, and I recently got some Gymboree long johns for $8, and I really like them; not organic, but they are really nice. I have bought Gymboree short johns at their outlet for about $10, not the best price, but they have worn well and DD1 who is 43lbs can still wear (barely) the size 3s I got her over 2 yrs. ago. The Carters brand (regular, and Target ones) also get honorable mentions for short johns and the Target ones are about $15 for two pairs.

BRU had some Carters 2pc long-sleeved PJs for $5.50 on their clearance rack last month...I thought that was a good deal. I also got some summery ones for next year in a size up for the same price (maybe $4.50). Diapers.com also has some random good deals if you shop clothing clearance with additional %off. I have the HA 1pc, but we really started to hate the zippers and fully undressing a child just for a diaper change. They're a little too thick for the summer, but I loved them for DD for last winter. I may get one more in 80 from Costco, but it's hard to fork over the $$.
