What do you do with all the broken stuff?

We get a lot of broken stuff here. Some goes right in the garbage, obviously. But some stuff can be repaired but does not always get done right away. And some stuff can be used without a part so that often gets separated. What do you do with it? I feel like I have toy and other broken item parts all over the house as the breaking always seems to happen when we are too busy to even deal with finding it a new place to live while it waits to be fixed.

Donate or give it away. For toys, places like toys for tots, sometimes will use extra parts to fix a toy, so they might take a broken toy if they can fix it. However, I would ask first. I know the one place I donated to, I had some random toys missing other parts, but they knew exactly which set it belonged to and said they would piece a set together with everyone's random donations.
