Now, or wait until the week of? Do you know of any especially good sales right now? I'm not set on a type and expect a lot of trick or treaters.

Thanks!!

At the last possible minute so I don't eat them all and have to rebuy. ;)

Do you belong to Costco? Their 150 piece chocolate lovers' bag is $13 and I think that is a really good price.

Yep, we're Costco members. I saw the big bags last week but wasn't sure if they were a good deal. I'll have to look more closely when I go tomorrow.

Has anyone seen the big tub of peanut safe halloween pretzels at Costco this year? Am I missing them? I'd like to give them out again this year.

Last year I compared that bag with Target. At Target I could get half that much candy for $10. Might be better this year but I don't bother looking anywhere else now.

I think that's a GREAT price! I aim to spend $0.10/piece or less.

The "regular" size bags are usually on sale around here for $2.50 and contain about 19 pieces (3 Musketeer have more than that, Peanut Butter Cups have many fewer -- check the nutritional info for how big a "serving" is and how many servings are in a bag to figure out how many pieces are in a bag).

I believe they're on sale this week at TRU for $2/bag. There's also been a coupon in the newspaper each week for the past few weeks for abt. $1 or $1.50 off 3 bags (so ~$0.50 off per bag). Combining those is the way I've gone and is probably the best deal, but it's more work than going to Costco and doesn't get you as many pieces unless you get multiple coupons and find multiple good sales. But we also don't get that many trick or treaters to warrant 150 pieces......

Costco: $13 for 150 pieces = $0.087/piece
Best option if you have the coupons and can find the "right" sale: $2.00-$0.50 coupon = $1.50 for 19 piece bag = $0.079/piece
($1 off Coupon is not as good as Costco: $6.00-$1 = $5 for 3x 19 piece bags = $0.088/piece)

Note: TRU had the $2/bag a few weeks ago and it was only for what they had in store and they really ran low making it hard to use the coupon if you're picky on what 3 bags you want to have to eat yourself... :wink2:
