Wow!! Really impressive! Every detail is so thought-out and creative. You must've put hours upon hours of work into that party, and its looks like it was completely worth it. The kids look like they're having an amazing time. What I can't figure out is how you managed to do so many activities at one party!

Due to the magical power of the web, I was able to recreate a lot of ideas pretty easily. Truthfully, I'm pretty lazy and not super crafty. We didn't spend nearly as much time as you might think on this party. The most time-consuming part for me was labeling and filling the candy bags. For DH, it was making the wands--though he enjoys stuff like that. My MIL did the scarves and the signs.

For food, we did barbequed chicken (Dragon) legs and fruit skewers. A HUGE hit and very easy. Veggies from Professor Sprout's garden were also on the table.

T-shirts were $6.95 each from a great Etsy seller. They were the most expensive part of the whole party, but I HAD to have them.

The best part? It was almost all outside! I don't think I could stand having 15 kids in my house for that long!

That is probably the most creative party I have ever seen! I think I would of had more fun than the kids!

Love all the different classes/activities!

We did the set up similar to the HP Blog post in another thread. DH bought pine dowels, stuck one end in our drill press and the other end in a block of wood. He then used cheap Harbor Freight carving tools to taper the dowels and add the details. it took him about 20 min. per wand (I think). You can also do it with a regular drill. See this post:

He stained them with some leftover wood stain we had laying around.

Very cool! My kids are entering the age where they will start to show more interest in HP. I would LOVE to do a HP party for them, but I may like HP more than they do, lol.

Oh crap. What are you, Martha Stewart? You make me look VERY BAD, and I am exhausted just reading about everything you did.

HOW AWESOME is that? Do you hire out? I could use your help next year.

I would be happy to send all the details to whoever would like them. In all seriousness, I AM NOT CRAFTY and really and truly it wasn't that big of a deal.
Shirts--Etsy
Frog Soap--Etsy
Sorting hat--Amazon
Candy--bulk food section at Wegmans, Jelly Bellies from Costco
Labels--I can send the files to anyone who wants them. They are formatted for the large (and free) UPS labels. Put them in your printer and they're done. I cut them with scissors and not that carefully. The kids are between 5 and 7. They don't care. All they see is candy.
Bags for candy--Michaels
Chocolate frogs--$3 mold from Amazon and melted chocolate from Michaels. It seriously took about 1 hour to do 25.
Balloons--Party City
Green Beans--grown from seeds we started two weeks earlier
Bottles for colored vinegar--Michaels
Craft quills--Michaels
No-sew scarves--I admit, MIL did these. I got the idea from Raidra though!!!
Sign--on poster board with regular marker. Coat of Arms is just printed from the computer and glued on
DH did all the chalk and wands. He's good like that.

Total cost of the party including the favors (wands, shirts, bags, "dragon" eggs, candy, soap, scarves), decorations, and food was about $400. That's what I would have spent to have it somewhere else. So, in the end, I didn't save any money, but I didn't go crazy either.

I have to say, DH would probably make more sets of wands if people are interested. It could be a flat rate for a determined set. Less than what some Etsy sellers charge.

I'm telling you--if I can do this party, ANYONE can. This is not my forte. It's all downhill from here!!!
