View Full Version : What are winter work shoes?

I wear a lot of dress pants to work in the winter and am at a loss as to where to find weather-appropriate shoes. I have some really nice Lifestride flats from Famous Footwear, but the top of my foot is exposed in them which creates two problems:

1. FREEZING cold when walking in parking lots, etc...
2. ICE AND SNOW falling onto my bare feet (or barely stockinged feet).

I need a different optioin that covers my whole foot, but is still stylish and flattering. In looking around at female coworkers, it seems like low boots that fit under dress pants as a common solution - but after going to a few stores today I couldn't find any that I liked.

Help? (Any shoes must meet the following criteria: brown, gold/brass/copper accents, low or flat heel, and some sort of texture or styling visible when worn with pants).

I think booties are the way to go for sure. In Arrivechi's perfect wedges thread there were several cute options posted. I'll post some suggestions when I'm not on my phone.

Would you do knee high boots with skirts or no way?

I have some cute boots I could wear with skirts. Thanks for directing me to the wedge thread!
