I have my montessori class observation in the morning and was wondering what I should look for or what questions I should ask afterwards? DS2 will be 2 1/2 next month and we've been going to the Montessori parent & me class for the past couple of weeks and have loved it so far. I will be observing the 3-6 year old classrooms which I haven't seen yet since our parent & me class is on Saturdays.

I would look at how the lead teacher interacts with the kids, how the kids interact with each other. Ask how much time they get to play outside. Basically, if I were observing, I would try to imagine my child in the setting and see if she would succeed in it.

I worked as an afternoon assistant for a year, and from my limited experience, I think my oldest would not have done well in Montessori, unless he had always been in Montessori, while I think my 3 year old DD would probably do very well.
