A little brag: Shep's first race! 28:05

We ran a 5k hosted by the local Animal Rescue League, where he's gone to obedience classes. Really this was one of the most grueling races ever, and it was clearly reflected in my time. :p Shep turned into a sled dog and I had to hold him back for most of the race because 1) we were hemmed in by all of the other runners with their dogs, and 2) some of the downhills were pretty scary. By the last half mile he finally calmed down, but by then I was pretty well spent. I actually did a lot better in the percentile rankings than the race the week before, so maybe everyone else was working much harder running with their dog:tongue5:. Though I saw many dogs that clearly do this very often. They heeled sooooo nicely.
