Anyone interested in (re)starting a South Beach Diet support gorup/check in? I see there was one started a a few months ago but nothing recent on it.

I started phase 1 yesterday and am hoping I see some weight loss by the end of the week. I did South Beach a few years ago and lost about 15 pounds but it eventually crept back up.

Anyone interested?

I'm doing Atkins and am down 12 lbs as of this morning! I have 3 more lbs to get to my pre-preg weight (125). It is so nice to be under 130! This week I've added in 1/2 a whole wheat tortilla (3 net carbs) to lunch and I'm excited to have a "sandwich" again! I also made some curried chicken in the crock pot that I've been eating for lunch.

I'll be in. I did it over August and into September and was doing well. The last month I haven't been so great about watching what I ate, and a few pounds crept back on. So, I'm going back to phase 1 as of today. I'm also back with exercise as of this week.

I was one of the posters in that summer thread. Although I am now in Phase 3, I am still doing South Beach. I am down 10 lbs...sometimes a few more. I am mostly happy were I am for the moment. We are going through our stress season, so now's not the time for a real push, kwim? If I can just maintain this weight through the holidays, I will be really happy. I am hoping for another 5-10 lbs come Spring. At that point I will be "slim" compared to "average" if that makes sense.

I'm willing to help where needed if you have questions or need support. I have a bunch of low carb and diabetic cookbooks for reference as well. FWIW, I did NO exercise. I wish I could, but my schedule is crazy at this point. I did Zumba last winter and I'm hoping to add that in again, but things need to settle down a bit first...maybe come January...

So good to hear some success stories! I am getting jealous!:p
I am having so much trouble with the diet! I did it once a few years ago and the weight just fell off - I lost 13 pounds in the first two weeks. This time around it is so slow going - maybe I lost three pounds in two weeks. I can't figure out what is going on. Any advice? I am only sticking to it at this point because I got into a groove with no carbs and no sugar and I am not craving them too much but I might throw in the towel by next week if I don't see a nice loss.

Help!

I didn't lose a lot of weight either. This time I'm adding in exercise. Did a pilates class and I will be sore tomorrow. I've got a zumba wii and eliptical so going to try for those once each and maybe build up to a 3rd day of cardio.

Goign back on carbs though did add on weight.

I didn't lose much weight in the beginning either (Phase 1). I really lost all the weight in Phase 2. Remember that Phase 1 is just to break yourself of the sugar/carb habit with the added benefit of losing a few pounds. Don't get discouraged. I really view the whole SB thing as a life change vs. a diet. That's not to say I didn't enjoy some Halloween candy or don't drink wine, but only in small quantities...

I'm consistently loosing 1/2 a lb a week and am 2.5 lbs from goal! I've been spending some time on a low carb forum and have tried some of their recipes for low carb baked goods-oopsie rolls, muffin in a minute etc. It's been nice to have baked goods again!

oopsie rolls: made with eggs and cream cheese. I made a couple into a sandwich one day and took 2 more last night to mcdonalds and subed them for my hamburger bun! And had one or 2 with PB. YUM!

Well, I fell off again. Had some things going over the weekend and ate a little carbs - not as much as normal. From tomorrow, I hope I can be better.

I've finalized a pumpkin morning bowl muffin this week:
1/4 c flax meal
1 egg
2 T pumpkin puree
1 tsp mixed spice for baking (or mixture of cinnamon/nutmeg)
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp splenda

mix all together and microwave for 1.5 min. I pour a tiny bit of cream over it and eat it like baked oatmeal. Delish!

Hi All!

Figured I would weigh in on my progress since I started this thread! I have been South Beach phase one for 3 weeks and lost approximately 5 pounds so far. Last night I was a little bad and snuck some pasta that the kids were having for dinner. (Why do I feel it is okay to cheat when no one's looking?!?! :bag)

I am still going to stick to phase 1 for a bit longer. I still have 20 pounds to lose but will be extremely happy if I can lose another 12 and keep it off and I definitely need to work in exercise consistently.

On a side note: Yesterday, my sitter told me I have been gaining weight around my mid-section. Seriously??? So I told her that I actually lost 5 pounds and she repeated again that to her it looks like I gained weight. Really woman?? I would never dream of telling my boss it looks like he’s gaining weight!!!!!!!!!!
