DS2 got this one for his 1st birthday. He likes to put blocks and other things in the back and push it around the house.

We have the really big, yellow Tonka metal dump truck. That thing is a workhorse and the boys LOVE it!

I got my son a Lego dump truck as part of his birthday present. http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Duplo-Dump-Truck-5651/dp/B003Z0QAUQ I got it at TRU, and it was cheaper than amazon's price.

(I bought it to go along with this: http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Duplo-Stone-Quarry-5653/dp/B003A2JBT6/ref=pd_sbs_t_2)

ETA- I realized after I posted that you wanted a big one. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_15?url=search-alias%3Dtoys-and-games&field-keywords=mega+bloks+dump+truck&x=0&y=0&sprefix=mega+bloks+dump
We have a CAT one. It's a great ride on too.

Is it easy to push around? DS likes to use both hands and push/walk with the truck. He attempts to do this with his smaller trucks and it doesn't work very well for him!

I saw a Wader garbage truck in the Sensational Beginnings magazine, they also have a dump truck. I haven't had much luck finding them though. The smaller ones are on Amazon but not the big ones.

DS is also into trucks(any trucks.garbage, cement etc ) and we find Bruder brand to be the best out there (no metal screw so you can leave it outside in your yard and not worry about rusting parts. Plus some or almost trucks are still made in Germany. I always find one on the toy section at Marshall's or some in Amazon like this http://www.amazon.com/Bruder-Mack-Granite-Dump-Truck/dp/B000NYT1M6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319641612&sr=8-1
It is really worth the money.

I just put the Bruder truck in my shopping bag. Hopefully the price will drop more closer to Christmas. DS will be old enough to play with them this year.

I second the Bruder recommendations. I bought a couple to give as gifts last Christmas and they are awesome! I think the best part is that they are not made in China.

Thanks, I will look for those. Do any B&M stores sell them so I could look in person? I'm not near a Marshall's.

I saw the Bruder trucks at the Home Goods store the other day. My 3yo was immediately drawn to the big recycle truck, it was 24.99. There were some other types, but I didn't notice the prices.

How about Bruder ROADMAX? http://www.amazon.com/Bruder-Toys-20000-ROADMAX-Truck/dp/B00004U3E3/ref=sr_1_2?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1319645799&sr=1-2

They are for younger kids (2-4 years.) I gave a Roadmax garbage truck to my nephew a few years ago. He pushed it around A LOT and it still looks brandnew.

DS received the Tonka for his second birthday and he has no trouble pushing it around. In fact he spends a good deal of his day doing just that! It's been a really great toy for him. He also has a couple Bruders, but the Tonka is his favorite.
