Hi! I was looking at a really old post and noticed this website was recommended for squeaky shoes. I am looking for my son, and though most of the shoes on that site look like they are girl's shoes, I was wondering about these in black:

Can anyone tell me if they look boy-ish in person, and if you like them (fit-wise). Also, can the squeaker be removed? He was measured at a size 4, but with thick socks I think I would get at least a size 5, since the size 4's I have now from Target seem tight.
I tried the Wee Squeaks on him at a local store and he thought the squeak was funny (and I did too!) but they were $34, so I was looking for something a little less expensive.
