I registered for the Maclaren Quest, but I was hoping to get some feedback on whether or not I'm on the right track...

We're going with the Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat and a snap and go frame (that we're borrowing from a friend), so I think we're covered for our infant stroller. I have another friend that has offered to loan us her Chicco stroller if we don't like the frame set-up.

We live in LA and have very limited storage space, so I'm wondering if it's best for us to focus on a good lightweight stroller than we can use from when the baby's an infant. I just saw the Maclaren Techno model on a sale site, but I'm wondering if there's a different model or brand you guys would recommend. Our funds are pretty limited, and I didn't get the stroller at my shower so we're on our own for this purchase and can't really afford the much pricier models. Any advice you guys can give would be really appreciated!

I would look at the Baby Jogger City Mini or the Cybex Onyx (which is similar to the Techno in features), both would be compatible with the Keyfit. The adapter would be an extra expense, but you could skip buying the stroller frame. Onyx has a flat recline, the BJCM is near-flat. Both are about 16-17 lbs. and have huge canopies and good pushes.
You can get a 2011 Onyx & adapter for $216 w/code FALL15 at Albee.

The BJCM is $160-$200 depending on color. The adapters are pricy, but you can find the adapters cheaper on Ebay.

There was a recent thread about umbrella strollers that can take a Keyfit: http://windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=413929&highlight=stroller+keyfit&page=2

I second the Baby Jogger City Mini. It is on sale right now, fold is wider than an umbrella stroller but flat so it is pretty small, and you can use it from birth- I used mine with a newborn and just bought a headhugger for it (very inexpensive) and it worked fine. Since you said you are getting a free snap n go, you can use that for short car trips if you don't want to buy the adapter for the city mini. You won't want to use a snap'n go for long walks/ outings though-- it's not great for the baby to be in the car seat all the time and it's not that enjoyable for you to push!

Also, if you are willing to consider a used stroller, check your local Craigslist, I'm sure LA has a good one and you may be able to get a "pricier" stroller after all if that's what you want.

Thanks for the feedback! We ordered the Citi Mini on sale with Babies R Us giftcards. I'll look into getting the headhugger (any particular brand you recommend for that?). Now to move on to all the other things we still need to get!

If you already have a snap n go for the Chicco Keyfit, you don't really need a stroller that takes the carseat, right? If that's true, I'd also look into a nice, lightweight reversible like the Bugaboo Bee. We got a secondhand one off Craigslist, and I love ours since the seat can be placed either forward-facing or parent-facing.

I like the Snuzzler or the JJ Cole.
