Or sloppy?
I mean tucking in only the front of a shirt. I've never heard of doing this, but was just reading the reviews of this shirt:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/bellatrix-tie-front-blouse/3194336?origin=category&resultback=622
which I bought in the paprika color, and someone mentioned only tucking in the front. I haven't worn it yet, and was trying to get ideas of what to wear it with. Anywho, I thought I'd run it by the very fashionable mamas here to see what the general consensus was. :)
So, how would you wear it? Tucked, untucked, half tucked?

sounds sloppy to me. I think that shirt would be cute with a thin belt.

it is indeed fashionable for the past few seasons.

I'm not a fan of the half-tucked look. In the pictures above, it looks like their shirts just came partially untucked.

I thought that was only popular in the late 80's / early 90's....I'm so out of fashion now!

I personally do not care for the half-tucked look.

I've seen it all over the j crew catalog. I've never done it.

I remember doing this all the time in the late 80s. Like all things old, it is new again, I guess!

I've always liked a half tuck, depending on the shirt. In a past career (over 8 years ago) I did visual merchandising for a major sportswear designer/brand and we often did a half-tuck when styling mannequins. I still like to wear some tops like this on occasion.

I'm ok with the front/ back but the side/ side one is not my style at all. Front/ back looks intentional while the one side tucked, other not looks sloppy.

Well, I'm still undecided, and haven't tried it yet, but my gut is telling me I'm too old to try the "half tucked" look. :) Especially after looking at those pics posted upthread! I agree with the front/back tuck as a possibility, but am not crazy about the side one.
Thanks for all of your opinions!

Looks good on models but only the most fashionable civilians should attempt it IMO.
This reminds me of the early 90s when we used to tie a knot in the back-waist of our t-shirts to make them more fitted. We looked beautiful, actually, but that was because we were 17. Not because it was a good idea.

I cannot tuck either way because my chest is so flat (and the rest of me is not) it looks super unflattering.

I like the front partial, half tuck to show my belt/buckle and it leaves me relaxed enough to not worry if the rest of the shirt is tucked properly. I think you only look sloppy if you...are sloppy, if that makes sense. A shirt alone wouldn't determine it.
