Clarks shoe sizing?

I got a pair of Clarks, they are the May Poppy loafer in the Black Croc, I ordered a 6 as the 6.5 I tried on was too big, and the 6 even seems big, do they tend to run big?

I think they're sizing is generous.

I think 'generous' is a perfect word for their sizing. I'm an 8 and I have a 7.5 as well as some 8s.

IME, they also are a wee bit narrower than other brands. I cannot get away with medium-width in Clarks, but I can in other brands.
