I have trouble with DH's stocking but I think your suggestion would be well received.

Is it bad that I do the same stocking stuffers I got when I was a kid?

Candy, toothbrush and lip balm.

I also look for small toys; last year, he got a pocket-sized RC car.

This year, I don't know what to get him. Probably iTunes gift cards.

DH is now using a safety razor to shave like this http://www.amazon.com/Edwin-Jagger-De89bl-Double-Safety/dp/B003LW4L2W

For his bday I got him that razor, shaving soap/brush, etc. That type of razor uses blades that really cut the hair instead of pulling a bit (DH hated shaving with the GIlette Mach type blades, etc.) I also got him this book http://www.amazon.com/Leisureguys-Guide-Gourmet-Shaving-Enjoyable/dp/1463595344/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1320687823&sr=1-1-catcorr

He is still stocked on shaving soaps, but I picked up some Art of Shaving stuff for his stocking from the Sephora F&F sale.

He'll get socks, probably a GC to Starbucks, some good dark chocolate. Cycling socks maybe.

My DH always gets candy, an orange, razor blades, a few pens, and a Leggo Bionicle. He also always gets some sort of joke book or comic book and a magazine. I also usuallly get him new collar stays for his shirt and new handkerchiefs most years, heavy duty hand cream for the winter time, axe body spray. I also usually get him something jokey. In the past, I have gotten him silly "As Seen on TV" stuff, fake mustaches, a fake gold tooth, etc. I love going to Bed Bath and Beyond, they always have great stuff.
