I'm looking for a good fleece. Something to wear alone in the fall and under a light jacket in the cold NY winter months. should I just go straight to land end or ll bean or is there something else to consider? Price isn't an issue, although who wouldn't love a bargain?

Thanks!

I love my Columbia fleece. I wear it under my Arc'teryx softshell down to the mid-30s.

ETA: Carp. I never know which forum I'm actually posting in anymore. This is the MomWear forum. My input does not apply :D

DH and I each love our LLBean Trail Model Fleece jackets. we wear them EVERY DAY. i love the style with zipper from neck to waist, but they have the pullover style. THey ahve other fleece weights also. I love the zippers on the pockets. I love the weight of the fleece. It's warm and lightweight to wear. we get a new one every year! LOL

LE outerwear is on sale this week ('til tomorrow, 11/8, I think) and I have no complaints about quality.

Fleeces count as outerwear, right?

Anyway, my only complaint about most brands' outerwear is that they don't sell women's tall sizes - I'd like an extra 2-3" of length in the sleeve and a little extra length in a jacket body.

I much prefer a Lands End berber fleece jacket that I got from the boys' section at Sears because it is longer than the NF one and zips all the way to my chin. :) It's an older version of this one:

I recently bought this one at the LL Bean outlet and I really like it - seems great for the price (I bought the brown and it was also $30 at the outlet). Very cozy and I don't want to take it off! The outlet near me had various colors in various sizes - more than I see online here.

Oh! I should add that it ran large. I'm 5'6", 150 lbs with broad shoulders and had to size down to a small which I find good for layering over a long sleeved shirt.

I have Columbia's Just Right Half Zip fleece in 3 different colors, so you can tell I love them! Great if you have longer arms (I tend to find some fleece jackets are not long enough in the arms - like North Face)

:ROTFLMAO: I think your input actually does apply for this post. :)

I love my Columbia fleece too, and am actually looking for an Arc'teryx softshell! :)
